Ok guys- you all know of my love for Glamglow. A few years ago, one of my earliest blog post, I did a review of three of their cleansers. The YouthCleanse, ThirstyCleanse (my Favorite), and DuoCleanse. (You can see that posts here- Glamglow Review) But honestly, when you think about it, Glamglow really isn't on the map because of their cleansers. They are better known for their masks (at least to my knowledge.) And I've always wanted to try them. Fortunately for me (not so much for Glamglow), I NEVER PULL FULL PRICE. So- I only have things that were either on sale, or purchased at an "off-retail" store (TJ Maxx, Ross- those types.)- I've gotten a moisturizer, the cleansers, and one or two other things ,including the PoutMud lip treatment (which was total crap). But- the big splashes, they make are usually a masks- I remember when the "FlashMud treatment" dropped and God, don't even get me started with the sheer absurdity of the "Bubble Mask". So- needless to say that when I saw this set of six different trial sizes of some of their most well-know masks for sale at TJ Maxx, for only 24.99, I definitely had to take it home. This masks kit includes some of my faves, like ThirstyMud, Supermud and MoistureFlow as well as, newbies to me- like FlashMud and Gravity Mud. Update/Correction: I said in the video that it retails for 39.00- I apologize but, that was incorrect. Sephora is selling it for 39.00 but, it's MSRP is ACTUALLY 86 bucks! I actually got a deal for ever more that I originally said.

6/25/2019 0 Comments Spa Night - Victoria's Secret PINKA few months ago Victoria's Secret, sent me a very very surprising coupon in my email. This coupon included a bar code to receive a little like sample bag of beauty products or more of spa products. This Victoria's Secret goody bag, included two bath bombs and three sheet masks for free. For absolutely free. Not with a purchase, not for a discounted price and it wasn't even just a select few products we literally got to choose whichever masks and bath bombs we wanted. So, I walked in and took anything that said "Coconut". Then I went to check out, coupon ready and in hand and then they scanned it and off I went. I loved it! I knew as soon as I saw the coupon that, I would have to do a full on spa night to really test them out (and really do I need an excuse to have a coconut scented bubble bath or to use a super relaxing sheet mask) So, here's what I thought of the products. bath bombs As part of the package, they gave us our choice of two different bath bombs - now due to the fact that I'm not so adventurous, mine were both pretty similar. I grabbed the GLOW Bath Bomb - (Celestial Coconut) as well as the Dream Dip (Sugared Coconut ). As you can tell, I love the smell of coconut. If I could, I would walk around ALL DAY smelling like a Pina Coloda. I guess my mom was on to something when she named me after an island. Anyways - they are both pretty similar but in a few respects, they do differ. First let's talk pricing, if you want to score one of these bad boys, they will run you a cool 6.95, which honestly to me, is a bit overpriced. I mean almost seven bucks for ONE bath bomb is a little pricey. Luckily, Pink has out backs and is always offering it on some sort of sale. Currently you can get two of them for six dollars - like two for six - that's much more like it! Something else they share is the size. I know I just said that they were overpriced and I stand by that but, they are SO BIG!!! It's like a softball. And they do completely dissolve. I hate taking a bath and finding all of the little rocks in the tub after I'm getting out. I think I owe that to the fact that it's so finely milled. As soon as it hits the water it starts to sizzle. The scents are another thing that come to mind. I have had quite a few bath bombs in my day but, I've never used a brand where the fragrance clung to me for the rest of the day. Almost like a lotion or even a perfume. I had people ask me what I was wearing when I wore both of these. To get that from a bath bomb was quite outstanding. Now, let's get into them individually. Glow: Celestial Coconut Ok so right off the bat - you can see what it's all about. It promises to not only moisturize your skin but to help it glow. So, did it do the job? I think it's possible, I saw a little bit of it but, really all it did was deposit some flakes of glitter onto my skin. When you hold the bomb in your hand, you can see that it has glitter spread throughout it. And while your in the tub with it, it does make your water look like a glitter gold spring. Not so good for clean up but, it was a dream come true for me. It did actually leave my skin with a very slight glow. The little glittery swirls did leave my skin with a sheen. I'm not saying that it looks like you've tanned but, it does give you a nice little glow. I will say this though. It left me skin feeling so incredibly hydrated and moisturized. Which is smart because if you didn't know- healthy skin is gorgeous skin. You can check it out right here- Glow Bath Bomb At regular price it was 6.95. Currently it's on sale for 2.99. Dream Dip: Sugared Coconut This one is pretty similar to the previous one. It smelled SO GOOD. It literally smelled like I was taking a bath in a Margarita, well maybe more like a Pina Colada. Just like the other one, it began to explode into bubbles. The blue and purple parts of the bath bomb were in the water. It looked like a rainbow but smelled like a drink. Both of the bath bombs, totally relaxed me. I think it was the smell or, the fact that I was sleepy and the vitamins and nutrients was relaxing my tight skin. When I got out of the tub, I had no dry skin. My dry flaky skin (especially on my foot, was ALL gone. One of my favorite things about these bathbombs the smell! In Celestial Coconut, I had a lady ask what I was wearing because I "smelled like the beach." I couldn't have imagines a better response. Unfortunately this one isn't available anymore but, I did fine the Star Bomb- Glitter Bath Bomb it was the same original prince of 6.95 but, is on sale for 3.99. You can get the Glitter Bath Bomb right here - Star Bomb. Masks Along with these bath bombs- VSPink Forever Angels also got to be pick three masks. I chose "Glow for the Gold", "Chargoals", and "Selfie Skin Coconut Oil" sheet masks. I am a pretty avid sheet mask user and I'm always testing out new ones. The majority of these have been replaced with newer versions. I love sheet masks because 1- They were free obviously a big deal. 2- I've always loved sheet masks because they give so many extra nutrients to the skin. If you've ever used a sheet mask before you know that ALL OF THAT juicy-ness isn't to be washed off- it's to be rubbed and soaked into the skin. I tend to use these at night because they do leave your skin feeling greasy but, most are like a mask with the added benefit of moisturizer. This is why I normally apply sheet masks at night. It's a lot of fluids to apply under your make up. It should be absorbed into the skin. So let's talk about these particular masks, the differences and similarities- so let's check out these masks. Glow for the Gold Ok so the first one tried was the Glow for the Gold. Gold masks have been one of my favorite beauty treatments ever since I became obsessed with the Peter Thomas Roth 24k Gold mask. It was amazing. This mask looks insane! It has the look of a golden welding mask. It was so weird but, it was pretty. This mask has caffeine and B3 in this mask. That is supposed to energize your skin and turn dull skin into a vivid glowing look. It also has nourishing vitamins. It's a dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested. So, what did I think about it. First of all, I felt incredibly relaxed while wearing it. It's a much heavier feeling on the face, than your usual sheet masks. It has that big gold top and then it has a thicker sheet under it. It felt great to ware. It being heavier on the face isn't a bad thing. I liked it. I think it felt more like a spa message. It was so nice. After removing it, my face did feel a lot softer and my skin a lot more hydrated than it was before. I think my skin was more hydrated but, as far as long term effects- honestly I didn't see much of a difference in my skin. On the Victoria's Secret website, it was described as a "Spa-Worthy Masks" no. It was a great and relaxing experience but, I really did not think it left a lasting impact on my face but, I'm good with relaxing... just relaxing. This masks usually retails for 4.95 but is now on sale for 1.99 - You can check it out here - Glow for the Gold Chargoals Charcoal in ANY type of beauty treatment in a good thing. Charcoal is great for skin. It pulls your impurities out. Pulls out all of the bad stuff and is supposed to leave you with clean and brighter skin. The famed "Black mask" has charcoal...The little "Black teeth" whitener (I can't remember what it's called but, you know what I mean) is mostly charcoal. However, all of that being said, I haven't seen too many sheet masks that claim to have charcoal as the main ingredient. Before we get too into this, I want to let you know that it has been replaced by the "Charcoal Refreshing" sheet mask. So- anyways. I tried this mask and here's the coolest thing. When you open the masks up, unlike any sheet masks I've seen before- it's jet black. While it looked really cool, again, I'm not really sure that it did anything for my skin. Again, it was really hydrating and very relaxing. After you take it off again, DON'T RINSE IT!!! Keep that liquid and massage it into your skin. This one I used on my face during a migraine and it did help to relax me. Now is it a treatment, no it's not but, it did help me out, after putting it in the fridge, it was nice and cold. I will say that my skin was slightly brighter. Slightly. I will give them props when it's needed. Something else that happened, I found that my face was like puffed up. What I mean by that is that some of my lines looked more shallow, especially under my eyes. I'm not going to take anything away from this mask but, I do think that any mask that was cooled down could so the same thing. If you want to check it out unfortunately, they no longer carry this mask but they do have two different replacements. So- the first one is it's the Pink version and (more inexpensive) version of the social media famous Bubble Mask- You can click the link to check that one out - Bubble-n-Chill , while it's not a regular sheet mask, charcoal is still the main ingredient in this mask. The closet mask that I could find to this one is the Charcoal Refreshing mask (that's a link by the way. You can try them both out though because they are 2 for 5 bucks but, if you want to be an idiot and buy them individually for 4.95. Selfie Skin Ok so last but, not least one of my favorite ingredient of ALL TIME, I mean in a mask, beauty, food, drinks and even candles. COCONUT!!! It's so damn hydrating and also it taste so damn good! How could it be bad? The #SelfieSkin mask featured Coconut as the main ingredient. So- this was the only mask that wasn't a crazy color. It was just your "run of the mill" sheet mask. As in it was just plain white. What it lacked in appearance it made up for in liquid. I know how crazy that sounds but, remember that sheet masks usually have so much extra liquid in the bag that they will have an extra amount to rub into the skin. My tip about that, dip into the bag after it's done. I've rolled them, I've cut down the middle to really dig in. It's a lot and this one packed a water balloon on extra moisture. So- the "Selfie Skin" mask promises just that- Selfie Ready skin. And quite frankly, who doesn't want that. In this day and age everything changed in the age of the selfie. You have to be ready at all times to take a picture. How good is to have skin that is so pretty, so plump, and so glowy that you don't need make-up or a filter to take a nice picture? So unlike the "Chargoal " masks, which detoxifies or the "Glow for the Gold" mask which brightens, this mask is called a "Nourishing sheet mask." and I cannot tell a lie- it did just that! I did cool this one first for a while after the great results I had from the "Chargoals" mask, and right now it's SO HOT outside I've been using mask to cool my skin. This one legit is my favorite mask out of all of them. I loved the other two but, I kind of felt like the other two were a little gimmicky. I mean, it's a Gold face or a Black face, I mean it's cool but, it didn't really make much of a difference in my skin. So- let's talk logistics, just like the previous mask this exact one isn't available anymore. But this one, Coconut Conditioning mask (again another link), is the closest thing that I could find. You can try them both out though because they are 2 for 5 bucks but, if you want to be an idiot and buy them individually for 4.95. Final thoughts and grade So- overall I'd give this goody bad a B. It would have been a C but, I really appreciate the fact that this little bag was free for all , "Angel Forever" card holders. Most brands and store cards always say over and over again that you get special treatment and benefits and I have to say, Victoria's Secret actually does that. We get early access to sales, up to five points per dollar, and things like this. Of course, you guys know I'm skeptic and I big believer of the phrase "Nothings Free" but, honestly I didn't have to buy anything for this bag. Now, being an "Angel Forever" card holder does mean that I've spent quite a bit of money in my favorite store (Well, lets say in the top 5 favorite stores). All of these products are amazing for relaxation. I honestly did notice more of a difference in my skin after the bath bombs than I did with the masks. The bath bombs make my skin glow. I'm usually a goldish brown color but, this made my skin have an extra glow, like I had been on vacation and the second one made my skin feel so soft, like I has a bath in body oil. I loved it! Both bath bombs dissolved completely which is a good thing because I hate finding little rocks after I drain my bathtub. And I love putting the masks in the refrigerator to cool it off, especially right now in the Summer time. It gives the skin a de-swelling and much needed cool time. Thank you again, Victoria's Secret Pink for this awesome gift bag, I hope there's more to come. |
